"This one is different," is the doomsayer's litany, and, in fact, every recession is different, but that doesn't mean it's going to ruin us.

Deep Thoughts w/ Greg “Handy”
Remember those old Saturday Night Live episodes with Jack Handy? Let's do some "Deep Thoughts" this week!
It's easy to sit there and say you'd like to have more money. And I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy. Just sitting there, rocking back and forth...
Well, we all need a bit of humor these days as investors and humans. I am challenging myself to see beyond the current moment and realize that things change. The bottom line truth is that market swoons and dips are typically opportunities. It also may be true that we are entering a new period where we need to keep a closer watch over our investments and consider broad diversification. I am currently looking into Agriculture lands and other investments to broaden defenses against what is to come.
I am personally adding select REIT's like LAND and Agriculture exposure like DBA, as well as other quality stocks or bond funds on discount. I may or may not be buying at the bottom, no one knows. I do know this: humanity will continue to innovate, live, work, play, consume and strive to make things better. Within this truth are opportunities to invest in tomorrow.

Weekly Market Report
This week saw a bounce off the 200 weekly EMA (red line) with SPY up over 6% for the week. Energy and Basic Materials lagged the market on a relative basis while Consumer Cyclical, Real Estate, and Communication Services outperformed. We would be cautious putting considerable capital in this "bounce" until we are able to clear some of the upper resistance areas such as 403, 411, and 417.
Finviz Weekly Market Heatmap
Lots of green this week, however Energy continued to trail the rest of the market sectors along with Agricultural Farming sectors.

Rates
The 2, 10, and 30 year rates continued to trade over 3% this week, but are showing a recent pattern of lower lows and lower highs--a downward trend. That might be good for equities if it continues.
VIX
The VIX definitely lost some steam this week which is good for our existing iron condors, since we should be able to buy them back (to close) for less than we sold them for. The Fear & Greed Index has also changed direction from Extreme Fear 14 last week, to Fear 28 this week.
Please let your friends know that we are offering MVP Free Trials and only $10/month after that. They get access to a thoughtful mature community of investors that are stress testing ideas. We also reveal our hot options trades, long term investing ideas, health tips and some fun stuff like collectible discussions. All with one simple goal: Empower you to build wealth and health for yourself and your family. I really believe it takes an educated and thoughtful community to do this.
US Dollar
The dollar, down 0.5% this week seems to be consolidating as the cup and handle formation continues. I'd watch the 105 level for guidance next week.

Health - Shrooms in Your Coffee?
1. Mushrooms may help keep you young. Mushrooms contain a super-high concentration of two antioxidants, ergothioneine and glutathione.
2. Mushrooms can protect your brain as you age. A study from Spain published in 2021 found that certain foods rich in polyphenols (which include mushrooms, as well as coffee, cocoa, and red wine) may protect the brain as we age.
3. Mushrooms can help your heart health. Mushrooms contain glutamate ribonucleotides. These compounds contribute to a savory, umami taste with no ramifications for your blood pressure or heart disease risk.
